How We Started
A Shared Passion for the Sector
Harmony was born from a genuine recognition of the challenges facing committee-managed early childhood services. Both Sherrie and Liz had seen first-hand how much pressure falls on volunteer committees, directors, and small teams — often without the consistent, expert support they need to thrive.
Sherrie's journey began in 2008 when she joined the committee at her child's kindergarten, quickly taking on the bookkeeping role and discovering a deep passion for supporting services to operate with financial clarity and governance confidence.
Liz brought over 14 years of experience as a Director and Educational Leader, understanding the operational and compliance pressures that services face every day. Together, they formed a partnership built on complementary expertise and a shared commitment to the sector.

Sherrie Young
Bookkeeper & BAS Agent
Sherrie's connection to the early childhood sector began in 2008 when she joined the committee at her child's kindergarten. The following year she took on the bookkeeping role — and never looked back.
Over the years, Sherrie has developed deep expertise in the financial and governance needs of early childhood services, becoming a trusted partner for committees and directors across Victoria.
Her calm, methodical approach and genuine commitment to the services she supports have made her an invaluable resource for committees navigating the complexities of financial management and governance.

Liz is a highly experienced Director, Educational Leader, and qualified Early Childhood Teacher with over 14 years of experience in the sector. She has led services across Victoria and brings a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to run a high-quality early childhood service.
Her extensive knowledge spans service delivery, regulatory compliance, team leadership, and educational practice — giving her a uniquely comprehensive understanding of what it takes to run a high-quality early childhood service.
Liz holds a current VIT registration and brings a warm, practical approach to every service she supports — helping directors and teams to grow, improve, and feel confident in their practice.
